The President held discussion with the outgoing Norwegian Ambassador to Ethiopia, Andreas Gaarder, at the National Palace today.
During the occasion, he said Norway has been supportive to Ethiopia’s development efforts in spheres of health, education, energy, and green development.
Mulatu stated that though Norwegian investors have been engaged in various investments in Ethiopia, the country has still abundant potential which is attractive to more investment from Norway.
The President also lauded the efforts of the outgoing Ambassador for his vital contribution in strengthening Ethio-Norway ties.
The outgoing Norwegian Ambassador Gaarder said on his part that his contribution was notable in increasing Foreign Direct investment (FDI).
“I have seen broad development cooperation between the two countries during my stay,” he said, adding that Ethiopia and Norway share lot in global challenges like climate change. Norway is engaged here in one of the areas in which Ethiopia is the front runner globally.
Ambassador Gaarder expressed his commitment to further strengthen the shared strong cooperation in regional stability, trade, development, and climate change. He has served four years in Ethiopia.
