Ethiopia, Norway Keen to Advance Cooperation on Green Economy and Environmental Protection, including support to the project of ensuring a greener and cleaner Addis Ababa.

This has been emphasized during a meeting between State Minister H.E. Mrs. Hirut Zemene and Norwegian Ambassador to Ethiopia, H.E. Ambassador Merete Lundemo here today (April 10).

Mrs. Hirut said her country would work more closely with Norway in a bid to strengthen the cooperation on green economy and environmental protection.

In connection, the State Minister briefed the Norwegian Ambassador on Prime Minister H.E. Abiy Ahmed’s vision of ensuring a greener and cleaner Addis Ababa, which she says, is vital to change the livelihoods of residents and revive the city’s economy as well as boost urban tourism.

Mrs. Hirut also called on Norwegian companies to seize the huge investment opportunities in Ethiopia.

Ambassador Merete Lundemo said her country attaches greater importance to its relations with Ethiopia and would work for the strengthening of these ties.

The Ambassador further said Norway is ready to cooperate with Ethiopia on green economy and environmental protection, including support to the project of ensuring a greener and cleaner Addis Ababa.
